Faded Acanthus Earrings
When I came to study ornament in depth, I began to see the acanthus everywhere. They would decorate my walks around the city glorifying the everyday objects of my surroundings. I am fascinated by how the styles of acanthuses have changed throughout the history of the decorative arts, and it is this fascination that led to an intense love for the design.
These hand pierced acanthus earrings have been decorated with 24ct gold foil through the process of Keum Boo. They were then textured, formed, and oxidised, highlighting the exquisite contrast between the black and gold.
